Now THIS is motivation to exercise!

Okay, Okay, so maybe this is NOT exercise...it was relaxing to swing for a while...and you should see the big rockers on the porch in the background!  So nice to sit and knit for a bit on those rocking chairs!  I have always been a sedentary girl...with loads of sedentary hobbies!

If you are thinkin' hey, this girl is not skinny!  Then you are right.  I still weigh more than you, most likely.  I still have at least 40 pounds to lose!  I am not worried in the least about it.  It will come off with the Slimming World plan. And they want me to exercise.  It is part of the plan.  I honestly just have not gotten to it yet.  Oh, I walked once last week for about 40 minutes but there is no regular routine going on here.  Wish I could say I was but I am just being honest.  I am asking Santa for a Wii Fit for Christmas, maybe that would be fun enough.

So today, I get this facebook post from a girl I knew many years ago.  Now I don't think she ever had a weight problem in her life.  Hmmm, maybe because she exercises?  I thought I would share what she said to me because it got me to thinking...and it just might get me to moving!

"This is so awesome! I'm so proud of you! Keep up the good work, but let me give you some encouragement about exercise. It is so hard to make yourself do it, but when you work yourself really hard, your body always feels so relaxed.
You feel like you've pampered yourself and gone to the spa because you feel like you look so good. I don't especially like exercise itself, but I LOVE the way it makes me feel! Keep it up, girlfriend!!!"        -Janet

Hey, I want to feel relaxed and I want to feel like I went to the spa...maybe I should try it?  What should I do Janet?  Thanks for the encouragement, friend.

  1. Okay, since you asked! Here's the BEST way to take off the pounds and spend only minutes doing it. It's called burst training (or peak training). Pick maybe just 4 exercises to do (try jumping jacks, crunches, run-in-place, and lunges or toe touches). Set your kitchen timer for 1 minute. Do one exercise as fast as you can for only 1 minute. Rest 1 minute. Do the next exercise as fast as you can for 1 minute. Rest 1 minute. Continue alternating 1 minute exercising as fast as you can with 1 minute of rest until you've done all 4 exercises twice. That's a total of 8 minutes of exercise and 8 minutes of rest. That's it! You're tricking your body by making your heart rate peak repeatedly which takes off the pounds. Do this 3 times a week and watch what happens to your waistline! Once you start doing this regularly, and you will because of how easy it is and the progress you'll make, let me know and I'll tell you some other easy stuff to do that will REALLY get you looking FABULOUS!

  2. I hate exercise, but i feel great after it, so i try to do the most i can. Some weeks it's lots, some week it's none, but i know when do exercise, my whole mood lifts, my fav is walking, and they say just 30 mins a day, can have sooooo many health benefits:) Plus if you have a lil slip up diet wise, the impact isn't so bad. My advice is get some music, pop it in your ears, and walk:) Cheap and makes you feel sooo good:)
